KITTERY and PORTSMOUTH, N.H. – Ethel M. Hubbard, 89, died Monday, Nov. 16, 2009, at Portsmouth, N.H. Ethel was born March 5, 1920, in York, daughter of the late Edward F. and Gladys M. (Smith) Rollins. Ethel was a wonderful person, and she loved her family dearly. Surviving are two daughters, Ellen Bowen and her husband, Edwin, of Kittery Point, and Barbara Reed and her husband, Stanley, of Lakeview Plantation; three granddaughters, Rebecca Barnes, Debbie Hall-Murphy and Stacey Slagle; nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, William Rollins; two sisters, Lena Morse and Madeline Huntress; many nieces and nephews. Predeceasing Ethel was her husband, Joseph W. Hubbard; a son, Joseph W. Hubbard Jr.; a granddaughter, Charlotte Shapleigh; two sisters, Evelyn Peabody and Elizabeth Perkins; and six brothers, Everett, Edward, Herbert, Anthony, Norman and Harold Rollins. Funeral services for Ethel will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home, Kittery. Burial will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Eliot.
