PRESQUE ISLE – Eugene O. Evans, 79, passed away Nov. 17, 2009, at his residence. He was born Dec. 12, 1929, in Everett, Mass. Eugene served 27 years in the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft mechanic before retiring as a master sergeant. During his time in the military, he served one tour in Korea and two tours in Vietnam, and was also awarded the Bronze Star. He worked for Northampton at Loring Air Force Base as a civilian also as an aircraft mechanic. Eugene married Margaret Deschaine, April 11, 1978, and had 22 years of marriage. He loved to hunt and fish; enjoying the peace of the outdoors. He also loved to bowl 10-pin and watch mystery movies. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Anne Evans of Presque Isle; his adoptive family, Jeffery and his wife, Lori Kenneson, of Presque Isle and their two children, Kristina and her husband, Issac Braley, of Chapman, and Adam Kenneson of Presque Isle; a sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Burchanan; a nephew, Shawn Burchanan and his companion, Annie, all of Bessemer, Ala.; and a special dog, Jakie. There will no services. There will be a time of refreshments 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 20, at the home of Margaret Evans, 30 Dragon Drive.
