CALAIS – Burton Baig, 88, passed away peacefully Nov. 20, 2009, with his beloved wife of almost 61 years, Jessie, at his side, at a Calais health care facility. He was born Dec. 29, 1920, the son of Max and Minnie Baig. Burton attended school in Amberst, Nova Scotia. For many years he was the manager of Medjuck’s Furniture Store, St. Stephens, New Brunsick. Burton was a 50-year Mason, a Shriner and a 35-year member of St. Stephens Rotary Club. In addition to his wife, Burton is also survived by his brother, Jack Baig. He was predeceased by his parents; and two sisters, Vera (Baig) Krichew and Daisy Baig. A graveside service will be held noon Monday, Nov. 23, at Beth Israel Cemetery, Bangor, with Rabbi Steven Schwarzman officiating.
