BUCKSPORT and KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. – Shirley H. Williams, 92, died peacefully Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, surrounded by family and friends at her home. She was born Sept. 19, 1917, in Philadelphia. She was predeceased by her husband and love of her life, John Alden Williams. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Myrtle L. Higgins of Paoli, Pa., Helen J. Mainieri and husband, Dan, of Plymouth Meeting, Pa., and Mary W. Cuskelly and husband, Michael, of Bucksport; grandchildren, Laurie C. Daniels, Daniel P. Mainieri, Ward Higgins, Janis Donahue and Max Corwin; along with five great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews; and many friends including Sandee, Colleen, Lori, Stephanie, Marsha and Anne. The family expresses a heartfelt thanks to Hancock County Homecare and Hospice and Hospice of Hancock County. There will be a gathering to celebrate Shirley’s life 3-5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 27, at Macleod’s Restaurant, Main Street, Bucksport. All are welcome to come and share a story. Gifts in memory of Shirley may be made to Hospice of Hancock County, 14 McKenzie Ave., Ellsworth, ME 04605-1520. Arrangements are under the direction of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Bucksport.
