KENDUSKEAG – Rae Roman, 96, wife of the late Irving Roman, died unexpectedly Nov. 26, 2009, at a Bangor nursing home. She was born July 12, 1913, in Naples, Italy, daughter of Salvatore and Anuncia (Fusco) Pisapia. In her younger years, she worked outside the home and was active in the unions, as well as other activities. In 1947 she married and in 1951 moved from Brooklyn, N.Y., to Elmont, Long Island, N.Y. where she lived until July 2007. Her most recent days were joyfully spent with her family members and her wonderful friends at Hammond Street Senior Center. As we all loved her very much, she loved us even more. She is survived by her son, Robert Roman and his wife, Jane, of Bradford; two grandchildren, Anna and Michael Roman; a stepgranddaughter, Stephanie Barriault; a great-granddaughter, Cadence Bachelder, all of Bradford; a great-grandson, Dantae Ashmore Roman of Bangor; a sister, Connie Rubino of Rocky Point, N.Y.; two sisters-in-law, Connie Pisapia of Hempstead, N.Y., and Eleanor Pisapia of Brooklyn, N.Y.; several nieces and nephews, including special nieces and nephews, Anthony, Richard and Rosemarie Rubino; many great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews. Friends may call noon-2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, at Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth, where services will begin 2 p.m. Cremation will be at Mount Hope Crematory, Bangor.
