BANGOR, Maine — A Maine coalition that advocates on global trade issues held a rally in Bangor to mark the 10th anniversary of landmark protests at a World Trade Organization meeting in Seattle.
A push for new global trade talks collapsed this week in 1999 at a World Trade Organization ministerial session in Seattle, where 50,000 protesters took to the streets.
To mark the occasion, the Maine Fair Trade Campaign has organized a rally on Monday at West Market Square in Bangor.
