NEW LIMERICK – Elva M. Wellington, 95, passed away peacefully Dec. 1, 2009, with her family by her side. She was born April 24, 1914, at Island Falls, the oldest of 15 children of Heber and Ella (Atkinson) Grant. Elva was lifelong member of Church of the Good Shepherd – Episcopal, St. Martha’s Guild and Sunshine Club of New Limerick. Elva was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Robert “Bob” Wellington. She is survived by their three children, Nina Weber and her husband, Ronnie, of Parrish, Fla., Noreen Graham of Glenburn, and Linwood Wellington and his wife, Julia, of New Limerick; 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Villa White, Edith Doody and her husband, Reuben, all of Houlton, Maxine Anderson, George Grant and his wife, Marjorie, Cecil Grant and his wife, Marie, Gladys Williams, Helen Williams and her husband, Leslie, and Geraldine McHatten, all of New Brunswick; a special niece, Marion Russell and her husband, Bob; a dear friend, Norma Nightingale, all of New Limerick; several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by a son-in-law, Douglas Graham; grandson, Douglas Wellington; great-granddaughter, Megan Wellington; brothers, Wilbur, Robert and Eldon Grant; and sisters, Frances Farrell, Josephine Lutwick and Phyllis Dixon. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Friday at Dunn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Church of the Good Shepherd – Episcopal, with the Revs. Jessie Drysdale and Lesin Nesin officiating. Interment will be at New Limerick Cemetery.
