HODGDON – Orville “Sandy” Graham, 69, went to be with his Lord Dec. 10, 2009, while surrounded by his family at his home. He was born Dec. 23, 1939, in Houlton, the son of Arthur A. Graham and Marjorie (Kaye) Aucoin. Sandy was a member of County Road Baptist Church. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps Company D First Battalion, Fourth Marines in Vietnam from 1967 to 1970, where he was awarded several commendations, including Navy Achievement Medal for Combat, Navy Commendation Medal for Combat Heroic Achievement while serving as a rifleman, the VC Medal twice, VS Medal with five stars, Good Conduct, National Defense and Combat Action Ribbon. After returning from Vietnam he was employed as a police officer in Northfield, Vt., and for many years had been a long haul truck driver. He is survived by his wife, Connie (Tingley) Graham of Hodgdon; two daughters, April Graham Tash of Elliwood City, Pa., and Kimberly Dunlop of Houlton; four grandchildren, Justin Graham of Vermont, Brittany Tash of Elliwood City, Pa., Brittany and Sarah Siriaus, both of Houlton; one great-grandchild, Kendell Graham; two sisters, Bonnie McKay of Weston and Gretchen Watson and her husband, Wayne, of New Limerick; brother, Robert Aucoin and his wife, Rainie, of Houlton; sister-in-law, Noreen Graham of Bangor; many special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Douglas Graham; and his brother-in-law, Bill McKay. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Saturday at Dunn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday at County Road Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Carver officiating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
