WALDO – Dr. Charles J. Mundo, 89, formerly of Islesboro and Sudbury, Mass., passed away Dec. 7, 2009. Charles was a retired engineer from Raytheon Corp., adjunct professor of navigation science and hydro graphics at the University of Maine, and a U.S. Army and Air Force veteran of World War II. He was the beloved husband for 65 years of Emily Francis (Eaton) Mundo; father of Francis E. Mundo of Rockport, Anne Gabriel of Great Falls, Va., and Sara MacLean of Northboro, Mass.; grandfather of eight and great-grandfather of three. A graveside service will be held 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15, at Mid-Island Baptist Cemetery, Islesboro.
