MADAWASKA – Eva “Rella” Pelletier, 89, passed away Sunday, Dec. 13, 2009, at a Madawaska health care facility, after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Eva was born Aug. 10, 1920, in Fort Kent, the daughter of the late Dave and Amedee (Saucier) Pelletier. Eva was a quiet and gentle lady, who in her younger years, enjoyed working in her garden and her flowers. In her later years, she enjoyed playing cards and doing various activities at the boarding home. Rella was a devout Catholic who most always had her rosary in her hands and enjoyed saying the rosary. She is survived by a son, Gilbert Pelletier and his wife, Lucille, of Madawaska; four grandchildren, Mark, Elizabeth, Glenn and Deanna; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Alberie Pelletier and his wife, Laura, of Fort Kent; three sisters, Martha Chasse of Connecticut, Lorraine Morin and her husband, Rosaire, of Lisbon, and Anita “Vi” Ouellette of Stockholm; a daughter-in-law, Rinette Duplessie of Madawaska; several nieces and nephews. Rella was predeceased by her husband, Guillaume “Willie” Pelletier, in 1983; one son, Gordon Roderick Pelletier, in 2002; and a sister, Elsie Pierce. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Thomas Aquinas Church. Family and friends may call 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at Daigle Funeral Home. Spring interment will be held at the parish cemetery.
