WARREN – Vera O. Marshall, 53, died Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2009, surrounded by her family at home after a long illness. Born Jan. 13, 1956, in Rockland, she was the daughter of Charles and Thelma (Prior) Overlock. Vera married Lee H. Marshall, June 7, 1975, in Warren. She was a high honor 1974 graduate of Medomak Valley High School. For many years, Vera loved her work as financial manager for Steele & Marshall, Rockland, which her husband co-owned until the business was sold in 2003. Vera was also employed at Bonnar Vawter Printing Co., State of Maine Department of Human Services and most recently, Penobscot Bay Medical Center, where she worked in patient registration. Vera’s fondest and most cherished memories were of traveling to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, to vacation with her husband every February for the past 19 years. She very much enjoyed keeping an immaculate home for her family and working on her flowerbeds. She also loved following auctions of antiques and carnival glassware. Vera cherished the gift of being a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Surviving are her husband of 34 years, Lee H. Marshall; their two children: son, Lee D. Marshall and wife, Sherrie, of Rockport, and daughter, Megan L. Marshall of Warren; parents, Charles and Thelma Overlock; two brothers, Myron Overlock and his wife, Susan, and Eric Overlock and his wife, Patricia, all of Warren; two sisters, Linda Stone and her companion, Barrett Winstead, of Thomaston and Winona “Nonie” Rich and her husband, Jim, of Warren; a brother-in-law, Kenneth W. Marshall and his wife, Linda, of Lincolnville; several aunts, uncles, many nieces and nephews. Also surviving are her very special friends, Cindy Salo and husband, Gary, of Warren. She will be very sadly missed by all her family and friends. In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services.
