LINCOLN – Joyce A. Oliver, 73, wife of Phillip Oliver, passed away Dec. 23, 2009, at a Lincoln hospital. She was born June 6, 1936, in Presque Isle, the daughter of John T. and Evelyn (McKenna) Ranney. She was an amazing woman, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She fought many battles and overcame them all except for this last one. She had great advice and would help anyone if they needed it. She and her girlfriends, “The Golden Girls,” were always out having fun. She was a big part of every child’s life. She didn’t miss a concert, recital, game or wedding. She spent her summers with her second family and Prince Edward Island. In addition to her husband, Phillip, she is survived by children, Brian and wife, Nimfa, Brent and wife, Linda, Bonnie and husband, Robert, Baxter and wife, Cathy, Benje and wife, Debbie, and Beth and fiance, Lester; grandchildren, Andrea and husband, Jose, Cheryl and husband, Pablo, Leslie and husband, Louis, Kambi and fiance, Merle, Kent and wife, Cindy, Clifton, Randy and wife, Samantha A., Danny and wife, Samantha K., Ty and wife, Melissa, Erica and husband, Alan, Melissa, Nathaniel, Isaiah, Deke, Myla, Autumn, Michael, B.J., Rick, Tera, big Travis and little Travis; great-grandchildren, Cristopher, David, Josephine, Brian, Tobias, Brianna, Steve and fiancee, Valerie, Nicholas, Kelsey, Kayla, Justin, Abby, Camerun, Logan, Elizabeth and Jericho; and great-great-granddaughter, Alexandra. She was predeceased by her loving dog and companion, Kiwi. A celebration of her life will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Lincoln Snowhounds Clubhouse.
