AUGUSTA, Maine — Maine health officials say swine flu continues to decline in Maine, where the outbreak’s been relatively mild compared with other states.

The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention says in its latest update Wednesday that there were no new H1N1-related deaths since the last update. There were nine new hospitalizations, down from 11 last week, and across all age groups.

New outbreaks have been reported in one long-term care facility and two K-12 schools. The outbreaks occurred in Penobscot, Somerset and York counties.

Health officials say flu comes in waves. They say the best way to protect yourself and your family is to get vaccinated before the next wave.

Officials say there is now enough vaccine in the state for anyone who wants a shot to receive it.
