BRISTOL, Conn. – Leo F. Marin, 79, passed from this world into the arms of Jesus, Dec. 25, 2009. Leo was born Sept. 24, 1930, in Wallagrass, the son of the late Thomas and Phoebe (Ouellette) Marin Pinette. He worked for New Departure – Hyatt Division of General Motors until he retired in 1981 and also worked as a commercial painter for 30 years. He was raised as a master mason in Franklin, Lodge No. 56, in April 1975, where he participated in the Degree teams. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and also made many friends during his journey of life. He will be greatly missed by all. He was very close to his wife and they did much traveling via camper to Alaska, Florida, and many other states, especially Maine, to visit family. He promoted family get-togethers, even taking them by bus to places like the Nordic Lodge for a holiday meal, as a gift. Leo leaves his beloved wife of 58 years, Rella (Lozier) Marin; sons, Thomas “Butch” and his wife, Josie, of Bristol, Conn., Raymond and wife, Pat, of Bristol, Conn., Leroy and wife, Debbie, of Harwinton, Conn., Michael and wife, Lori, of Bristol, Conn.; a daughter, Diane Parker and husband, Gary, of Bristol, Conn.; five sisters, Leone Deprey, Albertine Deprey, Anne Marie Belanger, Alphena Curtis and Alfreda Cook; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six brothers and four sisters, Albert, Paul, Bertrand, Arthur, Leon, and Leonard Marin, Adrienne Martin, Jeanette Saucier, Theresa Coulombe and Leona Michaud. Special thanks to the entire staff at Country Side Manor, Bristol, Conn., who cared for him in his final days on Earth. Funeral services will be held 9 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, Conn., to a Mass of Christian burial 10 a.m. at St. Ann Church, West Street, Bristol, Conn. Burial will be at St Joseph’s Cemetery, Bristol, Conn. Relatives and friends may call 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
