HOLDEN and CARIBOU – Ronald LaPointe, 69, passed away Monday, Dec. 29, 2009, at a Bangor hospital. He was born April 24, 1940, in Van Buren, the son of Ovide and Gladys (St. Pierre) LaPointe. Ronald was self-employed, operating R.L. Custodial Service for 25 years. He was an avid woodworker, building both sheds and custom made furniture. He greatly enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and walked between eight to 10 miles per day. He is survived by his beloved wife, Marion (Gerard); four children: sons, Brian and his wife, Kristi, of Dayton, Alan and his wife, Terry, of Ellsworth, Steve and his wife, Cindy, of North Waterboro, and daughter, Liz and her husband, Don Herman, of Cashion, Okla.; one brother, Robert of Van Buren; five sisters, Stella Violet of Van Buren, Helen Page of Caribou, Robertine Parent of Connecticut, Janet Roy of Van Buren and Leila Dufour of Van Buren; several nieces and nephews, 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Ronald was predeceased by his brothers, Percy and Donald. He will also be sadly missed by his loving dog, Abbie. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, at Holy Rosary Church, Caribou with Father Jean-Paul Labrie, celebrant.
