BUXTON, ISLAND FALLS and BIG LAKE, Alaska – Eric Eugene Barnett, 29, died Dec. 27, 2009, in Saco. He was born May 12, 1980, in Millinocket, the son of Maurice Barnett and Carol King. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the 101st Air Borne – the first unit to enter Iraq. He enjoyed cooking, eating, woodworking, carpentry, karate, exercising, boxing, fishing, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his father, Maurice and his wife, Michele (Lefebvre) Barnett, of Buxton; his mother, Carol and her husband, Scott Dunphy, of Island Falls; three sisters, Mariah Barnett, Kylie Dunphy and Carol King; maternal grandparents, Agnes Michaud of Sherman and Bud and Margaret Dunphy of Island Falls; paternal grandparents, William and Cecelia Barnett of Buxton and Ted and Beverly Lefebvre of Strong; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at Bowers Funeral Home, Island Falls, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday with Deacon Albert Burleigh officiating, and with full military honors.
