LIMESTONE – Ethel M. Hamilton, 68, died Dec. 29, 2009, in Caribou. She was born Nov. 28, 1941, in Lincoln, the daughter of William and Elsie (Hatch) Briggs. She was a graduate of Howland High School and was employed in the shoe and farming industries for many years. She had been a member of Howland Baptist Church since 1969 and a member of the Best Years Club at New Life Baptist Church, Dover. She is survived by three sons, Reginald Briggs and his wife, Laurie, of Bristol, Conn., Raymond Karounos and his wife, Stacy, and Chad Hamilton, all of Limestone; a daughter, Nikki Goodblood and her husband, Jason, of Connor; a sister, Florence Audibert of West Enfield; four grandchildren, Lauren Briggs, Aaron Dodd, Corey Ouellette and Breanna Goodblood; several nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her special friends, Evelyn and Gilbert Dufour, Janice Espling, and Stella and Junior Hodsdon, all of Caribou, Pat Southerland and Ken and Liz Danforth, all of Howland, Barb Spencer of Lincoln, Theresa Dobson of Washington state, Arnold Spencer of Bangor and Ken Hamilton of Limestone. Friends may call noon until the time of services Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday in the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Charlie Campbell officiating. Spring interment will take place at Howland Cemetery, Howland.
