Bowdoin wins Coastal Classic

At Brunswick, Kaitlin Donahoe posted 16 points, six assists and three steals to lead Bowdoin College past Salve Regina 73-46 to win the Coastal Maine Classic Sunday. Bowdoin topped Skidmore College 78-47 Saturday to advance to the championship game.
On Sunday, Leah Rubega had 10 points and 11 assists for Bowdoin. Caitlin Hynes scored 10 points.
Lindsay Shorey led Salve Regina with 19 points.
On Saturday, Hynes scored 22 points and added six assists to pace the Polar Bears. Colleen Sweeney and Rubega had 13 points apiece.

On Sunday, Jil Vaughan and Samantha Allen each scored 16 points for Colby. Julianne Kowalski had 12 points and 13 assists and Aarika Ritchie added 10 points.

Maine sweeps Moncton

At Alfond Arena in Orono, Jenna Ouellette scored two goals and posted an assist to lead the University of Maine by the University of Moncton 6-3 on Sunday.
The Black Bears defeated Moncton 4-2 on Saturday.
In Saturday’s game, Dominique Goutsis, Taryn Peacock, Lexie Hoffmeyer and Ashley Norum each scored for 6-10-5 Maine. Jessica Bond, Hoffmeyer and Ouellette each had an assist. Candice Currier made 23 saves on 25 shots.
Jill Stockton and Valarie Bolsclair each scored a goal for Moncton. Shona Thibodeau made 14 saves on 18 shots.
In Sunday’s game, Myriam Croussette, Amy Stech, Dawn Sullivan and Brittany Dougherty each netted a goal for the Black Bears. Peacock tallied three assists while Brittany Ott and Goutsis each had two. Ott and Kylie Smith combined for 13 saves on 16 shots.
