WINTER HARBOR – Esther H. Coombs, 88, wife of the late Walter A. Coombs, died Jan. 8, 2010, at an Ellsworth hospital. She was born Nov. 22, 1921, in Gouldsboro, daughter of Harry and Vida (Moore) Haycock. She is survived by three sons, Larry E. Smith and his wife, Ann, of Winter Harbor, William E. Coombs III and his wife, Narda, of Prospect Harbor and Guy Coombs and his wife, Gail, of Sullivan; 11 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren; one sister, Fae Carter and her husband, Herb, of Sullivan; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by one brother, Guy Haycock; one great-grandson, Korey Coombs; and one great-great-grandson, Seth Tracey. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 15, at Bragdon-Kelley Funeral Home, Main Street, Milbridge. Private interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Winter Harbor.
