PRESQUE ISLE – Robert “Bob” Levasseur, 87, died Wednesday morning, Jan. 27, 2010, at a Presque Isle health care facility. He was born June 4, 1922, in Van Buren, the son of Benjamin and Agnes (Cyr) Levasseur. Bob served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a manager of a retirement mobile home park in Colorado Springs, Colo., and owned and operated a barbershop in Mapleton for many years. Bob was a communicant of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a former member of Knights of Columbus. He is survived by his wife, Dolores (Labbe) Levasseur of Presque Isle; three sons and their wives, Donald and Sharon of Sebastian, Fla., Dennis and Ruth of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Peter and Chichi of Mapleton; a daughter, Frances Madore and her husband, Vaughn, of Presque Isle; a brother, Bertrand Levasseur of Van Buren; a sister, Lucille Guerette of Lewiston; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, Antonio and Raymond; a sister, Cecile LaVoie; and two half sisters, Sister Assunta of Good Shepherd Convent and Ida LaRouche. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Raymond Morency officiating. Spring interment will be at North Main Street Catholic Cemetery, Presque Isle. Those who wish may donate in his memory to the charity of one’s choice.
