VEAZIE – Jeannette G. Demers, 78, wife of the late Arthur “Curly” Demers, died Monday, March 8, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. Jeannette was born Jan. 13, 1932, in Sheridan, daughter of William Nun and Maude (Doll) Carney. “Memere,” as she was affectionately known by most, was the happiest in the company of her family and friends, especially Joyce Orfo, her life-long best friend. She enjoyed listening to country music, making Christmas ornaments for family and friends, and devoting her life to raising her children and grandchildren. She just loved being around her family, especially during the holidays. Jeannette is survived by her six sons, David L. of Dover, N.H., Arthur E. of Masardis, Donald P. and his wife, Susan, of Medway, Lee and his fiancee, Kay Bernier, of Sandown, N.H., Michael E. and his wife, Patty, of Millinocket and Keith C. and his wife, Janine, of Winn; daughter, Elaine “Lainie” M. Fraser and her fiance, Michael Roy, of Veazie; stepson, Roger A. of Glastonbury, Conn.; 15 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Elmer Bell of Millinocket; many nieces and nephews. In addition her husband, Jeannette was predeceased by a son, Brian K. She was also predeceased by her 13 brothers and sisters. Friends may greet the family 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 11, at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday, March 12, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 58 Cedar St., East Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider.
