ORONO, Maine — A total of 326 points were scored as the Penobscot Valley Conference held its Classes C-D Senior All-Star basketball games at Orono High School Wednesday night.
The Away teams triumphed in both games, with the girls earning a 54-49 victory in the opener and the boys outlasting the Home squad 116-107 in a game featuring 27 3-pointers.
In the boys game, Ben Teer from Washington Academy of East Machias led the way for the Away team with 22 points.
Garen Manzo from Stearns of Millinocket and Bryce Colbeth from WA had 17 points apiece. Foxcroft Academy’s Ryan Stroud and Justin Artus from Penquis of Milo each had 13.
Noah Von Rotz from Washington Academy led the Home team with 25 points. Stearns’ Josh McDonald had 19, Penquis’ Caleb Stanley 16, Piscataquis of Guilford’s Aaron Ward 14, and Corey Wentworth of Houlton with 10.
In the girls game, India Frazier from George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill scored 14 for the Away team.
Houlton’s Vanessa Sanderson and Foxcroft’s Vanessa Lougee each scored seven for the Home squad.
