HODGDON – Athaline H. Vail, 76, died March 9, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Jan. 28, 1934, in Hodgdon, daughter of Asbra R. and Goldie (McGuire) Hutchinson. Athaline was a member of Hodgdon Methodist Church and Houlton Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts, working in her flower gardens and especially spending time with her family at Drews Lake. Athaline is survived by two daughters, Kathy Estabrook and her husband, Tom, and Kim Vail, all of Hodgdon; two granddaughters, Jessica Dhuy and her husband, Ryan, of Hodgdon, and Shannon Stuart and her husband, Scott, of Lisbon Falls; two great-grandchildren, Cassidy Clark and Ethan Merritt, both of Hodgdon; three brothers, Leon Hutchinson of Hodgdon, Leigh Hutchinson and Philip Hutchinson, both of Houlton; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, James Vail; three brothers and one sister. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Friday at Dunn Funeral Home where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. David Tuttle officiating. Spring interment will be at Hodgdon Cemetery.
