BANGOR – Clifford “Cliff” B. Turner, 77, died Thursday, March 11, 2010, at his home. He was born Nov. 18, 1932, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of George Turner and Caroline “Tudy” (Jonah) Turner Viscovitch. Cliff grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y., and Perry. After high school, he joined the U.S. Air Force. Cliff was a former resident of Tucson, Ariz., and Huntington, Conn. He retired from Sikorsky Aircraft, Stratford, Conn., after 37 years of service. Cliff enjoyed many hobbies including, fishing, hunting, gardening and bird watching. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Anita (Pohl) Turner; daughters, Dawn Powell and her husband, Ralph Jr., of Prospect, Conn., and Robin Hasse and her husband, Todd, of Albuquerque, N.M.; sons, Kenneth Suttmeier and his friend, Gail, of Catskill, N.Y., and Chris Suttmeier and his wife, Kerry, of Sheridan, Conn.; grandchildren, Carrie, Mary Anne and Jack; great-grandson, Tye; cousin, Bruce Savage and his wife, Margaret; special friends, Bill Kendall and Rick Hamm; many wonderful friends and neighbors at Eagle Crest Apartments. Special thanks to Dr. Erik Steele and his staff at Family Practice, and everyone at New Hope Hospice for their loving care. A service of remembrance will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 13, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, with the Rev. Carl Schreiber, pastor of East Orrington Congregational Church, officiating.
