MILFORD – Joyce “Jo” (Brown) Boyington, 75, devoted wife of the late Raymond Boyington, died March 13, 2010, surrounded by her children, at a Brewer health care facility. She was born Oct. 3, 1934, in Dennysville, daughter of Harry and Hazel (Ward) Brown. After high school graduation Joyce attended Husson College, Bangor. She had her sights set on higher education to begin and secure her future; indeed she was a role model for her children and grandchildren to build a solid foundation for themselves. Joyce retired after 32 years of dedicated service at Dr. Lewis S. Libby School, Milford. Her work there brought her much joy through friendships and through the love of the children who came to her office. She had immense love for her family and treasured time with them; she especially loved large gatherings of her loved ones. She also enjoyed traveling. One of her favorite destinations was to return home to Dennysville to visit her family and friends there. Joyce had many wonderful friends, throughout the years and enjoyed spending time with them as well. She is survived by two sons and their wives, Bruce Boyington and Lisa of Milford, and Daryl Boyington and D’arcy of Hampden; one daughter and her husband, Cindi and Ralph Cox of New York; her brother, Jack Brown; sister, Til Griffin, both of Dennysville; 10 grandchildren, T.J., Jenny, Bruce, Chris, Ryan, Jessy, Nick, Abbie, Ellie and Jed; many great-grandchildren, beloved nieces and nephews; and four stepchildren and their families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Wallace Brown; and two sisters, Alberta Preston and Barbara Lingley. The family thanks Joyce’s caregivers for their loving care and compassion throughout the years. Interment will be at Dennysville Cemetery at a time and date to be announced later this spring.
