Members of the Foxcroft Academy String Program and their string coach, Susan Ramsey, invite you to enjoy their fundraiser, “A Celebration of Strings,” featuring a special appearance by nationally known folk singer-songwriter David Mallett.

The concert is 2 p.m. Sunday, March 21, at Center Theatre in Dover-Foxcroft.

The snow date is 2 p.m. Sunday, March 28, at that site.

The suggested donation is $5, and admission is free for children.

Ramsey, who appeared as “The Fiddler” in Center Theatre’s production of “Fiddler on the Roof,” reports the Foxcroft Academy String Program was founded in 2008 under the guidance of FA music director Shane Ellis, with string coaches Ramsey and Ruth Fogg.

“The students have responded enthusiastically” to the program, Ramsey wrote, “learning how to play violin, viola, cello and bass violin.”

Supported by the FA Music Boosters, the program also received a $2,500 grant last year from Maine Community Foundation.

This concert will also feature classical music, Finnish dance tunes and Celtic music, and Ramsey urges readers to “please come out and support the FA String Program” featuring “some very talented musicians.”
