A state task force has recommended that eight non-profit marijuana dispensaries be
permitted in the first year, following voter approval of a citizen initiative to broaden
access to the substance. Will this work in allowing patients to get their medicine? Or is
eight dispensaries too few? Is the $15,000 fee to open a dispensary too high? Will the
substance “leak” into the black market, making marijuana more accessible to those who
use it recreationally?
