ST. ALBANS – Clyde L. Elliott Jr., 51, died unexpectedly April 5, 2010. He was born Nov. 2, 1958, in Hartland, a son of Clyde and Beverly (Niles) Elliott Sr. He graduated from Skowhegan High School in 1977 and from the University of Maine at Farmington with a bachelor’s degree in child development. He married his sweetheart, Betty Smith, Feb. 16, 1980. Clyde was employed at Halycon House for several years and most recently at Charlotte White Center as an employment specialist. He was president of Night Drifters Snowmobile Club, Detroit, Maine, for two years. He loved fishing, wrestling and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and will be greatly missed by his family. In addition to his wife of 30 years, he is survived by five wonderful kids, Danielle and husband, Maurice Gould, of Hartland, Donna and husband, Mark Jacques, of Skowhegan, Debbie Elliott of Indiana, Destiny Herrera and fiance, Ed Bishop, of Augusta, and Ben Elliott and fiancee, Kayla Davis, of St. Albans; six grandchildren, Taylor, Wyntyr, Colby, Kaylee, Cameron and Mariah; two sisters, Donna and husband, Raymond Thayer, of North Haven, and Una and husband, Randy Whalen, of Skowhegan; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents. A celebration of life will be held 4 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at Night Drifters Snowmobile Club, Detroit, Maine. Private graveside committal services will be held at the convenience of the family at Fairview Cemetery, Canaan, with Pastor Al Worden officiating. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
