Hours before Brooklin’s annual town meeting Saturday, the town’s three selectmen
resigned. Is this evidence that serving on a small town’s municipal board is too much
work with too little satisfaction? Or were there other factors leading to the apparent strife
that led to the resignations? Should the residents of small towns show more gratitude to
municipal officials?
