BREWER – Jack Edbert Arlaud Sr., 78, died April 6, 2010, at the Maine Veterans Home, Bangor. He was born April 11, 1931, in Des Moines, Iowa, son of Jack St. John and Lucille AnnaBell (Abel) Arlaud. Throughout his battle with cancer, Jack remained an extremely devoted husband and primary caregiver for his wife, “Peg.” Jack was a graduate of Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa, and was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He had been employed as a professional pharmaceutical sales representative for Schering Corp. of New Jersey, retiring after 40 years. Surviving are his loving wife of 57 years, Margaret Eleanor (Lander) Arlaud of Brewer; three sons, Michael Arlaud and his wife, Nancy, of Sherrill, N.Y., Jack Arlaud Jr. of Brewer, and Stephen Arlaud and his wife, Jane, of Gray; two daughters, Denise Clement and her husband, Merrill, of Bucksport, and Anne Pomeroy and her husband, Jeffrey, of Francestown, N.H.; six grandchildren, Douglas Arlaud, Amanda Arlaud, Jennifer Burke, David Arlaud, Paula Arlaud and Jesse Clement; two brothers, Jerry Arlaud and his wife, Cheryl, of Indianapolis, and Jeff Arlaud and his wife, Theresa, of West Des Moines, Iowa; three sisters, Judy Sims and her husband, Ron, of Des Moines, Iowa, Janet Kelly and her husband, Galen, of Altoona, Iowa, and Jean Copic of Des Moines, Iowa; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jack was predeceased by his sister, Joyce McGilvra of Iowa. The family extends their gratitude and appreciation to Penobscot Community Healthcare, CancerCare of Maine, and especially all the staff at the Maine Veterans Home, Bangor, for the wonderful care Jack received while he was a resident there. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 5-7 p.m. Sunday, April 11, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, April 12, at St. Paul the Apostle, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Brewer. Interment with military honors will be held at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
