EAST MACHIAS and GREENFIELD – Duane Francis Davis, 52, passed away April 9, 2010, surrounded by his loving family, at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 11, 1957, in Machias, the son of Juanita and Kenneth “Bucket” Davis Sr. He attended Elm Street School and Washington Academy. He worked for many years as a truck driver for Thorton’s Construction. Duane also loved the time he worked for Melgey’s Farm. He greatly enjoyed spending time with his wife, Becky; camping, fishing, snowmobiling and going to camp on Hadley’s Lake. He loved bonfires, and he was always there to help others. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Becky (Moores) Davis; his mother, Juanita Davis; children, Dustin Dupee and Candace Dupee; stepchildren, Joshua Larrabee and Gene Henry Larrabee; five grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth “Bucket” Jr. and wife, Karla, Danny and Tammy, Richard and Susan, and Brad; and a sister, Dianne and Randy Dennison; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Kenneth “Bucket” Davis Sr. Friends are invited to visit with the family 1 p.m. until the time of funeral service 2 p.m. Monday, April 12, at Elm Street School, East Machias, with Tony Maker officiating. Burial will be afterward at Jacksonville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Becky Davis, 70 Hadley Lake Road, Apt. 3, East Machias, ME 04630.
