BANGOR – Beryl Beverly Berry passed away peacefully April 7, 2010, at a Bangor health care facility. Beryl was born Sept. 6, 1926, in Boston. She attended Higgins Classical Institute, Charleston, and graduated from Hallowell High School, Hallowell, in 1945. She worked for many years in the insurance industry for Jim McClure and Artie Eaton. She served as president of Bangor Business and Professional Women’s Club and the Insurance Women of Eastern Maine. She had a kind and generous spirit. She had no expectations of people and didn’t ask more of anyone than they could offer. She always looked for the positives in life no matter how trying a situation might be. She loved her friends and family and will always be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor. In turn, she was deeply loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. Beryl was predeceased by her sister, Mary Mitchell. She is survived by sisters, Gervais Baston and Susan Zutell, both of Easley, S.C.; son and daughter-in-law, David and Linda Berry of Winterport; grandson, Ian Berry of Veazie; granddaughter, Michele O’Connell of Okinawa, Japan; nieces, Muriel Rogers of Gilroy, Calif., and Debbie Bear of Waterboro; nephews, Brian Berry of Winterport and Joseph Mitchell of Jacksonville, Fla.; and great-grandchildren, Brenna, Kyle and Shawn O’Connell. A memorial service will be held this summer in Bristol on a date to be announced.
