SOUTHINGTON, Conn. – Donna Patricia Tilley, 70, died peacefully Friday, April 9, 2010, at the Hospital of Central Connecticut at Bradley Memorial, Southington, Conn., after a long illness. Donna was born Jan. 10, 1940, in Millinocket, the daughter of Thomas and Pearl (Rideout) Tilley. She played basketball in high school and graduated from Stearns High School, Millinocket, in 1958. She joined the U.S. Air Force right out of high school. Donna worked for a time as an inspector at Electric Boat, Groton, Conn., and Waterbury Farrell. She retired and had lived in Southington, Conn., for the past 10 years. Donna leaves her mother, Pearl Tilley Steele of Southington, Conn.; a son, Jamie Tilley of Woodbury, Conn.; a grandson, Cpl. Randall Tilley and his wife, Heather, of Jacksonville, N.C.; two great-grandchildren, Cheyanne and Landon Tilley, both of North Carolina; a brother, James Tilley and his wife, Wanda; a brother-in-law, Joseph Nemerovsky, all of Southington, Conn.; two nieces, Lisa Bugnacki and her husband, Robert, of Thomaston, Conn., and Dody Sherman of Colchester, Conn.; a nephew, Travis Tilley of Waterbury, Conn.; a stepbrother, Grove Steele of New Britain, Conn.; a stepsister, Susan Hale and her husband, Gary, of Killingworth, Conn.; and great-nieces, Renae and Rebecca Bagnacki, Kelly Sherman Green, Rachael White, Jasmine and Allysa Morris and Jae Sherman. She also leaves her beloved cat, Precious. Donna was predeceased by her father, Thomas Tilley Sr., in 1968; a sister, Doreen, in 1935; a sister, Lois Nemerovsky, in 2007; a nephew, Michael Morris, in 2008; and a brother, Thomas Tilley, in 2009. A memorial service is being planned. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
