NEWPORT and HOLDEN – Rosalie Glenn Lantay, 81, died peacefully April 15, 2010, at her home with her devoted daughter by her side. She was born Jan. 10, 1929, in Washington, D.C., the youngest daughter of Glenn and Mary (Decker) Smith. She graduated from Juilliard School of Music, and was a cellist for Juilliard Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and Erie Philharmonic Orchestra. Rosalie “Rose” also enjoyed playing mostly classical music on her piano. She will be sadly missed by her only daughter, Olivia Lantay-Howes of Holden; granddaughter, Heather Nigliaccio of Illinois; and other family and friends. A graveside committal service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, April 22, at the family lot at Riverside Cemetery, Newport. Arrangements are by Crosby & Neal, Newport.
