PLEASANT POINT – Marie Antoinette Moore, 73, passed away peacefully April 15, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. Marie was born July 12, 1936, in Pleasant Point, where she grew up and raised her own family. She was the only child born to Horace W. and Camilla M. (Dana) Nicholas. Marie was very social and involved with her community, serving as a Eucharistic minister at St. Ann’s R.C. Church. She loved to play bingo, as well as cards at the Elderly Meal Site. She was always up for traveling and trying new things. Marie possessed a very adventurous spirit and a keen sense of humor. Her love was with her children; she found happiness in their laughter. In addition to her parents, Marie was predeceased by three children, John W. Nicholas, Vivian Martinez and Horace J. Moore. Surviving are her five children, Gerry Moore and his wife, Adele, of Pleasant Point, Raymond Moore and his companion, Cindy, of Eastport, Ann Diffin of Princeton, Mildred Mitchell of Pleasant Point and Keith A. Moore of Pleasant Point; 14 grandchildren, Michael, John, Felicia, Lindsay, Derek, Kurt, Faith, Brittani, Sabatis, Tiffany, Nicholas, Horace, Alexis and Molly; 12 great-grandchildren and her eight feline companions. Her family thanks Sunrise County Dialysis Center for the special care they gave to Marie. A wake will begin 10 a.m. Saturday, April 17, at Marie’s home, 12 Iron Cross Road, Pleasant Point, and will continue until the time of service 10 a.m. Monday, April 19, at St. Ann’s R.C. Church, Pleasant Point, with Father James Plourde officiating. Donations may be made in Marie’s memory to Paws Humane Society, P.O. Box 182, Calais, ME 04619.
