SWANVILLE – Travis W. Seekins, 39, died Saturday, April 17, 2010, at a Bangor hospital due to complications from a long battle with Crohn’s disease. He was predeceased by his father, Richard; paternal grandfather, Earl Seekins; maternal grandparents, Everett and Erna Gilmore; and an uncle, Everett Gilmore. Surviving along with his mother, Maxine of Searsport, are his companion, Heidi Stanley and her daughter, Brooke, who Travis loved as his own daughter, of Swanville; two brothers, Eric Seekins and his wife, Jenn, of Oakland, and Earl Seekins and his companion, Twyla Thompson, of Searsport; a niece, Katie Seekins; a nephew, Sam Seekins, both of Oakland; paternal grandmother, Edith Seekins; aunts and uncles, Sharon Lamb and her companion, Harold McCutcheon, of Searsport, Ruthie and Lloyd Hamm of Searsport, Ada Gordon and companion, Ed Gotham, of Searsport, Florence Gilmore of Searsport, Ken and Janice Gilmore of Belfast, Leonard and Judy Gilmore of Belfast, and Paul and Kathy Gilmore of Belfast; as well as numerous cousins. It was also Travis’ wish that people wear their everyday clothes. He wanted his family and friends to come celebrate his life. After the service, there will be a celebration of his life noon-3 p.m. at Searsport Masonic Lodge. In lieu of flowers, it is Travis’ wish that a college fund be established for Brooke.
