At Dover-Foxcroft, Josiah Brazier’s two-run single, Allen Connor’s RBI single and five walks produced seven fifth-inning runs that erased a 5-2 deficit and gave Searsport its win over Foxcroft Academy in a mutual season-opener.
Brazier also had a double and Evan Kingsbury had a pair of RBI singles and picked up the save with three innings of two-hit, one-run ball.
Connor collected the win.
Kyo Mikame had a two-run double and RBI single for Foxcroft Academy. Ryan Rebar tripled, Ryan Stroud had an RBI double and Ryan Olmsted singled twice for the Ponies. Josiah Richard added a single and a sacrifice fly.

At Bangor, Nevin Jipson drove in three runs with a double and two singles and Travis Reed hit a pair of doubles as Penobscot Valley beat Bangor Christian in a mutual season-opener.
Winning pitcher Brody Libby went five innings and aided his own cause with a single and two RBIs. Adam Callendar doubled for PVHS.
Jipson’s two-run single and Ryan Scopino’s RBI single keyed a four-run sixth inning that broke the game open.
Ben Groski doubled and singled for Bangor Christian.

At Dover-Foxcroft, Kelsey Boss and Sam Snyder combined to drive in seven runs as the Ponies triumphed.
Boss singled twice and doubled for four RBIs while Snyder also had two singles and a double (three RBIs). Jasmine Fletcher added two singles and three runs batted in.
Kristen Chase and Marissa Higgins singled for Searsport.

UMF splits with Lyndon State

At Farmington, Lyndon State scored four in the sixth inning and held on for a 6-4 victory in the first game of Monday’s doubleheader, but the University of Maine-Farmington rallied for four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take a 9-8 win in the second.
In the second game, Matt Judkins had three RBIs — two on a single that capped the last-inning rally — plus a double to lead the Beavers.
Matt Levine had two singles for the Beavers.
Korey Marsh had a home run and two singles for the Hornets.
In the first game, Shane Kirby hit a double and a single while Ben Clark singled twice to pace the Hornets.
Jack Macvane and Levine each had two singles for the UMF Beavers.

Bates sweeps UMF

At Farmington, the visiting Bobcats from Lewiston used an offensive barrage to sweep a doubleheader from UMaine-Farmington, taking game one 13-3 and game two 15-6.
In the first game, Bates pushed across five runs in the fifth to erase a 3-1 deficit.
Monica Berube singled and tripled to knock in three runs for the Bobcats while Karen Ullman singled and tripled.
Shannon Mitchell hit a two-run homer for the Beavers.
In the second game, Libby King’s three-run double highlighted a 10-run fifth inning for Bates.
Leah Maciejewski singled twice to knock in three runs while Lauren Dobish doubled and singled (two RBIs).
Lily Barry stroked a two-run homer for UMF.

Emerson 9-5, St. Joseph’s 1-1
At Standish, Kendal Peiguss’ two-run homer and Bridget Farago’s two-run single highlighted a five-run second inning as Emerson College ended St. Joseph’s 23-game winning streak in the opener.
Kelsey Tuthill tossed 6ª innings of two-hit ball in the nightcap and Peiguss singled home what proved to be the winning run as Emerson completed the sweep.
Emerson is now 24-8 overall, 19-3 in GNAC play while St. Joseph’s fell to 27-7, 20-2, respectively.
In the opener, Brittany Martin had three hits and two RBIs, Farago had two hits and two RBIs and Peiguss hit her two-run homer to back the four-hit pitching of Sara Murray.
Samantha Gray singled twice for St. Joseph’s.
In the second game, Farago and Jordan Newell had a pair of hits apiece to support Tuthill, who struck out 11 and walked just one through 6ª innings.
Liddy van der Linden homered for the St. Joseph’s run.
