OLD TOWN – James F. Dyer Jr., 53, died unexpectedly April 19, 2010, at his residence. He was born Dec. 31, 1956, in Bangor, a son of James F. Sr. and Virginia A. (Lucas) Dyer. Jim was employed by the University of Maine for more than 20 years. He enjoyed fishing, painting pictures and Karaoke singing. He loved his parents and was a devoted son. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and Masonic lodge. He is survived by his wife, Joanne (Wood) Dyer of Old Town; a brother, Jeffrey Dyer and his wife, Lynn of Old Town; a nephew, Nathan Dyer; stepchildren, Diane Smith of Greenbush, Rita Fish of Milford and Mark LeBlanc of Greenbush; and a large extended family. He was predeceased by his parents. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday at Resurrection Parish of the Lord, Holy Family, 429 Main St., Old Town.
