ALLAGASH – Dora L. McBreairty, 81, died April 20, 2010, at a Fort Kent health care facility. She was born Jan. 9, 1929, in Allagash, daughter of George and Myrtle (McBreairty) Kelly. Dora was a member of Allagash Baptist Church. She loved to travel, especially during the holidays and especially on Thanksgiving. She loved her home and being with her family. She enjoyed watching basketball no matter who was playing. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by five children, Myrtle Ann Williams and her husband, Richard, of St. Francis, Norma Miller and her husband, Leo, of New Milford, Conn., Clayton McBreairty and his wife, Colleen, of Allagash, Marsha O’Leary of Gray and Tayler McBreairty of Allagash; one sister, Annie O’Leary of St John; nine grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman McBreairty, Oct. 28, 1961; one son, Wade; and one brother, Pat Kelly. Family and friends may call 4-8 p.m. Friday at Allagash Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 24, at Allagash Baptist Church. Burial will be afterward at Allagash Baptist Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Allagash Baptist Church, 564 Dickey Road, Allagash, ME 04774. Arrangements are a service of Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent.
