At East Millinocket, Brandon Smith pitched four scoreless innings of relief allowing one hit, one walk and striking out 10 in leading Penquis of Milo to victory over Schenck. Brian Russell had three singles and four RBIs for the Patriots. Jesse McLaughlin doubled and drove in three runs. Kiel Larson pitched the scoreless first inning and had two doubles and two RBIs. Smith added two singles and two RBIs. Derrick Tanous and Ryan Thompson singled for the Wolverines.

At Calais, senior righthander Josh Gillespie recorded a no-hitter to give the Blue Devils the victory. Gillespie struck out 12 and walked only two — one in the second and one in the third — while the Blue Devils played errorless defense. Gillespie also aided his own cause with a triple and RBI single while Adam Geel chipped in with two singles. Nathan Pike scored Calais’ first run in its two-run third when he walked and later scored on a wild pitch. Geel followed with a single, stole second and scored on Gillespie’s single.

At Lee, A.J. Harris and Ryan Beers teamed up on a four and a half inning no-hitter with 13 strikeouts as Lee Academy evened its record at 1-1. Harris struck out eight and walked one through three innings and Beers fanned five and hit a batter in his two-inning stint. Dylan Whirty had a two-run homer and a single and Beers had two singles for the Pandas. Each drove in two runs.

At Howland, Dylan Worster pitched a two-hit shutout in lifting Penobscot Valley over Houlton. Worster walked three and struck out seven to improve to 2-0 for the Howlers. Derrick Bellavance hit a two-run single in the first inning. Adam Callendar doubled, singled and scored two runs. Logan Jipson and Ryan Scopino each scored two runs. Hunter Hanning singled in the first and third innings to lead Houlton.

At East Machias, left hander Tim Sawyer allowed one run on four hits and three walks while striking out nine to lead Washington Academy past Woodland. Ryan Sprague and Tyler Varney each singled twice for the Raiders. Derrick Porter hit a double. Jordan Perry hit two singles to lead Woodland. Ryan Lincoln doubled.

At Fairfield, Nate Lewis tossed a four-hitter, striking out six and walking two, enabling him to ouduel Shawn Russell in a battle of lefties. Russell pitched a six-hitter with seven strikeouts and six walks. He also hit three batters. Devin Lyshon’s two-run double in the first inning and Cody McInnis’ two-run triple in the second produced the Bangor runs. McInnis had a single to go with his triple and Jacques Larochelle doubled and singled for the winners. Russell had a run-scoring double for Lawrence and Blair Blaisdell also had a double.

At Stacyville, Brady McNally doubled, singled twice and drove in four runs to lead the Cougars to victory. Colby Gallagher chipped in with a two-run home run for the Cougars and winning pitcher Brandon Robinson added two singles. Austin Bernier notched a two-run double for the  Tigers and Landon Keizer added an RBI single.

Josh Gale hit a two-run single in the sixth inning to bring the Eagles within a run. Jared Reed doubled and Jesse Dow had eight strikeouts.

Righthander Rollins stuck out 10 and walked just one. John Lymburner had a two-run single in a three-run fifth inning that built the lead to 9-3. Lymburner had two singles in the game as did Joe Condon, who had an RBI. Tyler Alexander had two singles and an RBI for Deer Isle-Stonington.

Dennis O’Neil hit a three-run triple in the sixth inning for the Trojans. Devin Young doubled and Peter Logue had two singles. Keith Nelson hit three singles and drove in three runs to lead John Bapst. Chris Hammond added a double, two singles and two RBIs.

Tyler White hit two singles while Jordan Richards, Kyle McLain and Ryan Adams each doubled. Alec Wallace hit two doubles to lead Mt. Blue.

Fred Knight chipped in with a two-run double and single, and Nolan Turner singled twice. Mike Saucier doubled, singled and drove in a run for Skowhegan.

At Limestone, Audra Kirk’s sacrifice fly to center field with no outs in the bottom of the seventh inning gave Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics, its triumph over Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook. Two walks and a passed ball set the stage for Kirk’s sacrifice fly.  Victoria St. Pierre had three singles and two RBIs for the winners. Savanna Gray and Stephanie Leighton had two singles apiece. Jasmine Cote went the distance for the win, allowing four hits with two strikeouts and five walks. Evangeline Goodall pitched a complete-game for Southern Aroostook and had her team’s only RBI with a sacrifice fly.

Madison Lezotte added a double and two singles.

Morgan Beal hit an RBI triple and Morgan Merchant had two singles for Jonesport-Beals.
