VEAZIE – Marilyn E. (Drouin) Barrett, 51, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2010, with her daughter and son by her side, at a Bangor hospital. Marilyn was born Aug. 23, 1958, in Bangor. She grew up in Veazie and attended John R. Graham School. She graduated from Orono High School in 1976 and went on to obtain her registered nurse license from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing. After graduating, she practiced nursing at Eastern Maine Medical Center, and East Side Rehabilitation and Living Center for several years. She loved reading, crafts, animals, being with her family and friends, and caring for the ones around her. Marilyn was an amazing daughter, mother and friend who will be greatly missed. Marilyn was predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth (Matheson) Drouin; and a very special uncle, Edward Matheson. She is survived by her father; her brother, John Drouin and his wife, Kate; son, Benjamin Barrett; daughter, Erin Barrett and her husband, Justin Mecham; niece, Elizabeth Drouin; nephew, Derek Drouin; other family and friends. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, April 29, at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Ohio Street, Bangor.
