EAST MILLINOCKET – Earle R. “Bob” Fayle Jr., 88, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at a Millinocket hospital. He was born Feb. 5, 1922, in Millinocket, the son of Earle R. and Eula (Newall) Fayle. Bob graduated from Schenck High School, Class of 1939. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Nicholson during World War II. After returning home, he attended Ricker College and graduated from Colby College in 1950. He worked as an electrician at Great Northern Paper Co., East Millinocket, for 35 years until his retirement in 1985. Bob was a member of Feeney Groves Post No. 13, American Legion, East Millinocket. He was an avid cribbage player and loved hunting and fishing. Bob will also be remembered as the ultimate sports fan. He was a devout member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, East Millinocket. Bob is survived by his wife of nearly 49 years, Margaret P. (McDonald) Fayle of East Millinocket; his four children, Nancy Picard of Tucson, Ariz., Earle R. Fayle III and his wife, Rita, of Medway, Jeffrey Fayle and his wife, Sandra, of Medway, and Tammy Elliott of Brewer; grandchildren, Sonja and Brad Bugg, Eddie Hamm III, Michael Picard, Drew and Kaitlin Fayle, Michael and Corinna, Joshua, Amanda and Rebecca Elliott; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Thurza Knaide of Bangor; three sisters-in-law, Mary McInnis and Shirley Fernald of Millinocket, and Ingrid McDonald of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother-in-law, Raymond McDonald and his wife, Barbara, of Sanford; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was predeceased by his parents; his first wife, Doris Surrette; and his brother, Ralph. Friends are invited to visit with the family 4-8 p.m. Friday at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St., Millinocket. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 58 Cedar St., East Millinocket, with the Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor, presider.
