BREWER and BANGOR – Patia Atkins Mitchell, 84, wife of the late Alden C. “Bud” Mitchell, died April 27, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 5, 1926, in Sagamore, Mass., the daughter of Eugene R. Ellis Jr. and Muriel (Eldredge) Ellis. Pat graduated from Bourne High School and attended Kenyon Commercial School. She was a member of Maine State Mayflower Society and Cape Cod Nickerson Family Association. Pat assisted her husband in the operation of the former Clark-Mitchell Funeral Home. She loved to paint and was well known among several arts organizations. She is survived by three children, Meredith Mitchell Atkinson and her husband, Scott, of West Boothbay Harbor, Melanie Hendrickson and her husband, Ed, of Sag Harbor, N.Y., and William Mitchell of Las Vegas; one grandchild, Samantha Lynn Mitchell of Las Vegas; and two great-grandchildren, Makayla Lynn McGeever and D.J. McGeever, both of Las Vegas. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother, Philip Ellis. A private burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
