HOULTON – Jean C. Little 81, died April 29, 2010, at a local hospital. She was born March 31, 1929, in Houlton, the daughter of Guy Sr. and Beulah (Hatfield) Harrington. Jean attended Houlton schools, graduated from Houlton High School, Class of 1947, with honors, and also attended Ricker College. She was a lifelong member of Hodgdon Methodist Church, where she was very active. Jean enjoyed selling Avon for 25 years, working at Woolworth’s five-and-dime and Houlton District Court. She loved spending time with her family, being a grandmother and great-grandmother. Jean is survived by three sons, James Little and his wife, Carla, of Hodgdon, Guy Little and his wife, Burlene, of Linneus and Earl Little of Linneus; eight grandchildren, Lori, Sarah, Suzanne, Andrew, Lillian, Justin, Michael and Earl Jr.; eight great-grandchildren, Tristin, Elexis, Hannah, Kelynn, Dolton, Mariah, Hailey and Michael; one brother, Guy Harrington Jr. of Hodgdon; one sister, Lois Murphy of Carver, Mass.; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Merton; and her grandson, Kevin James Little. The family expresses their gratitude to Madigan Estates Houlton Regional Progressive Care, Dr. Sussman and Dr. Abouleish for the loving care provided to their mother. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Dunn Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Marilyn Rohdin officiating. Interment will be at Linneus Cemetery.
