BREWER – Janet J. Stewart, 75, died May 3, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Oct. 17, 1934, in Bangor, daughter of Wilson and Stella (Smith) James. Janet was a graduate of Bangor High School and Husson University. She was well known and respected in the investment business in the Bangor area for many years. Janet taught synchronized swimming at the YMCA. She was an active member of Essex Street Baptist Church, Bangor, where she taught Sunday school, served as church secretary, a director and financial advisor. She was a former member of the Zonta Club, Bangor. Surviving are her husband, Richard M. Stewart of Brewer; and a sister, Donna Chaput and her husband, Robert, of Hampden.
