KENDUSKEAG and SOLON – Michael Andrew Jackson, 64, died May 9, 2010, at a Bangor health care center. He was born Dec. 11, 1945, in Norway, son of Alfred and Phyllis (Greenlaw) Jackson. He attended Gray schools and graduated from Gray-New Gloucester High School. After graduation, he attended trade school in Portland where he became a finish carpenter. In late 1980, Michael was employed at Scott Paper Co., a division of N.E. Timberlands, where he worked 19 1/2 years. He retired from Sappi Fine Paper and went to work for Linkletter Trucking, Athens, until Jan. 6, 2010. Mike was an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying hunting, fishing, snowshoeing and photography at the farm in Solon. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Rose Mannette-Jackson of Kenduskeag and Solon; two daughters, Donna Jackson of Orono and Deborah Jackson-Meservey of Warren; grandchildren, Danielle of Bangor, Jennica and Ellie Lynn of Warren; and a great-grandson, Hunter. Michael is also survived by sisters, Andrea Hopkins-Nash and her husband, Mark, of Vermont and their three boys, Edward, Lucas and Jacob, Mary Emmons of Bryant Pond, Marion Chase of Waterford and Margaret Twitchell of Oxford; and brothers, Howard and Richard, both of Otisfield and Alfred Jr. of Madison. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, at Evergreen Cemetery, Solon, with the Rev. Robert T. Carlson officiating.
