NEWPORT and DICKSON CITY, Pa. – Darlene Marie Folsom O’Hara, 46, died May 10, 2010, surrounded by her loved ones at Community Medical Center, Scranton, Pa. She was born July 12, 1963, in Dexter, a daughter of Thomas and Gloria (Rines) Folsom. Darlene was a graduate of Nokomis Regional High School, Class of 1981. She had been a travel agent for several years and had previously worked as an executive secretary for Fastenal. Darlene adored the time she spent with her husband and children. She was happiest being with her family, her friends and exploring nature, especially in Maine. She was passionate about kayaking, cooking, gardening her beautiful flowers and her wonderful photography that she shared with so many. Darlene was predeceased by her father, Thomas J. Folsom; her grandfather, Lincoln Folsom; her paternal grandmother, Doris Folsom; her maternal grandfather, Everett E. Rines; and her brother, Darren L. Folsom. She is survived by her husband, Edward O’Hara of Dickson City, Pa.; her son, Jarrod Clark and his wife, Cindi, of Manchester, Conn.; her son, Lincoln Clark and significant other, Renee Beaudry, of Dexter; her stepson, Scott O’Hara of Dickson City, Pa.; her stepson, Cory McDonald and significant other, Erin Brousseau, of Dayton; her mother, Gloria and husband, David Hitchings, of East Machias; a brother, Thomas Folsom and friend, Janet Chamberlin, both of Stetson; maternal grandmother, Christie Rines of Newport; grandmother-in-law, Esther Owens of Wickenburg, Ariz.; brother-in-law, Jeffrey O’Hara and friend, Nicole Diehl, of East Fallowfield, Pa.; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Barbara and Edward O’Hara of Scranton, Pa.; her many aunts and uncles, Lucy and husband, Don Philbrook, of Jay, Everett and wife, Mary Ellen Rines, of Newport, Nancy and husband, Dave Nickerson, of Tennessee, Brenda and husband, Philip Zukatis, of Buxton and Robert Rines of Pittsfield; her nephew, Evan Folsom; stepniece, Cassandra Knowles of Bangor; nieces, Kayla and Haley Folsom of Levant; nephews, Jeffrey and Sean O’Hara of Scranton, Pa.; and many cousins. Graveside committal services for Darlene and her brother, Darren Lincoln Folsom, will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, in the Folsom family lot at Riverside Cemetery, Newport, with Pastor Al Worden officiating.
