VAN BUREN – Germaine St. Amand, 85, died May 17, 2010, at a Van Buren health care facility after a long illness. She was born Dec. 21, 1924, in Lille, the daughter of Eddie and Alice (Clavette) Gendreau. She is survived by one son, Wayne St. Amand and his wife, Diane, of Rockledge, Fla.; three daughters, Diane Parent and her husband, Romeo, of Caribou, Carol St. Amand and her husband, Dave Nadeau, of Presque Isle, and Gail St. Amand of Glen-Burnie, Md.; three sisters, Alphena Latham of Van Buren, Mary Ann Chasse and husband, Gerald, of Hamlin, and Rhea Gendreau of Limestone; five grandchildren, Daryl St. Amand, Jose St. Amand-Powell, Kate Parent Paradis, Anik Nadeau and Nicole Nadeau; one great-granddaughter, Emma Paradis; sisters-in-law, Alice Gendreau, Doris St. Amand and Viola St. Amand; brother and sister-in-law, Armand and Regina Caron; and brother-in-law, Norman Bouchard. She was predeceased by her husband, Adrian St. Amand, in 1995; a daughter, Shirley St. Amand-Enholm, in 1981; four sisters, Ernestine Gendreau, Lucienne Gendreau, Rena Gagnon and Gladys Laplante; and three brothers, Hector, Conrad and Percy Gendreau. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Committal service and interment will be at the parish cemetery.
