LIMESTONE – John F. Wood, 75, passed away unexpectedly May 20, 2010, surrounded by his family. John was born Sept. 11, 1934, in Leeds, Mass., son of Berkley and Lodia (LaValle) Wood. He retired from the military in 1978 after 27 years of combined service in the Marines, Army and Air Force. He then drove a school bus for more than 20 years, most of them for the Limestone School System. He truly enjoyed getting to know the kids at the school and watching them grow through the years. John was devoted to his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandkids. He enjoyed the outdoors, both hunting and fishing. He was a huge Patriots fan and loved watching Sunday football with his friends and family. He was always quick to help anyone in need and touched the lives of many people. He will be greatly missed and always loved. In addition to his wife of 34 years, Pat, he is survived by his daughters, Beth Ann Boddy and her husband, Steve, of Washburn and Stacy Wood of Caribou. He is also survived by his sister, Beverly Maher and her husband, Bob, of Massachusetts; and his brother, George and his wife, Sheila Wood, of Alfred. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Hannah Boddy, Johnathan Boddy and Alexander Wood. He also had several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents; and his brother, Robert. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Sunday, May 23, at Lancaster-Morgan Funeral Home, 11 Clover St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, May 24, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone, with the Rev. Chanel Cyr, celebrant.
