CHESTER – Carlton L. Davis, 73, died May 29, 2010, with his wife and daughter by his side. He was born Feb. 4, 1937, in Chester, the son of Perley and Olive (Ireland) Davis. Carlton enjoyed hunting, fishing and many outdoor activities. He loved people and often showed acts of kindness with family, friends and friends-to-be. He always had kind words and was a very caring man. His great love of music was shown when he played his guitar or keyboard when someone came to visit. His love of children showed and was obvious throughout his life. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sylvia (Savage) Davis of Chester; his daughter, Debra and her husband, Dennis, of Chester; a grandson, Corey Jordan and his wife, Melanie, of Lowell; granddaughter, Hillary Winslow of Portland; a grandson, Kyle Gero of Afghanistan; great-grandsons, Hunter Gordon of Lee and Jacob Jordan of Lowell; two special little ladies, Hannah and Hayden Soucy of Lee; a brother, Freeman Davis of Chester; a sister, Kathleen and her husband, Jerry Terrio, of Howland; many treasured nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Edwin and Therlie Davis; and two sisters, Phyllis Kelly and Dora Tash. Carlton will be greatly missed by all who knew him. At Carlton’s request, there will be no funeral services. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 3, at South Chester Cemetery with the Rev. Wayne Perry officiating.
